Mentorship & Employment Program 2020-10-19T19:00:13-06:00

When student-athletes enter the University of Calgary, they begin what will be a five-year holistic development journey. We want our athletes to have the best student-athlete experience in Canada with every opportunity to fully develop their athletic, academic and leadership skills while at the University of Calgary.  In order to achieve this, we need a strong mentorship program from the University Alumni network as well as the Calgary business community.

 2Mentorship and Employment Goals

  • Program Design that Develops Great People through the Mentoring Lifecycle
  • Build a strong network of prospective Mentors (Alumni and Business Community) & Employment sponsors
  • Connect Mentors/Mentee using a pre-defined profile matching process
  • Guide the mentoring program through workflows, checkpoints and help resources
  • Facilitate professional and career networking opportunities
  • Measure success through program ROI and overall learning impact

The Mentorship and Employment Committee (MEC) will gauge progress against the following success metrics:

  • 100% of current Dinos Men’s basketball players will be paired with a mentor throughout each season
  • 100% of current Dinos Men’s basketball players will have an updated CV by the end of February each calendar year
  • 100% of current Dinos Men’s basketball players that choose to train in Calgary during the offseason will maintain summer employment for a minimum of 4 months
