Funding Education
We currently have $1.2M in endowments that generate funds each year for player scholarships to pay for tuition fees rising to an annual team funding requirement of $150,000/year. To create sustainable funding for 12 full-ride scholarships each year, we need to increase our endowed scholarship funds to $2.5M. Our objective is to raise our scholarship funds by $250,000/year to $2.5M over the next 5 years. Help us get there!
Funding Program Operating Costs
To run an elite program the Sixth Man Club contributes $360,000 annually for operating funds (beyond U of C contributions) to pay for assistant coaches, strength and conditioning trainers; travel costs to play elite competition. to operate community initiatives among other costs. Funds are generated by running camps, AGLC’s Casino Volunteer program. direct donations including generous matching funds from the U of C and sponsorships.
Our target is to increase annual contributions to $500,000/year to cover increasing costs to run the program and retain coaching staff. We are committed to continuing current funding initiatives and finding new sources of revenue such as our legacy program. Help us get there!
Facility Project
We have an ambition to build a year round, multi-court basketball facility to provide much needed gym space to develop kids and their love for the game in Calgary; and provide a premiere training facility for the team. We expect the capital raise to be $10M+ This is a significant project being spearheaded by seasoned professionals in the Calgary community. More detailed information will become available.
