The Sixth Man Club: Organized & Committed.

History

The SMC was founded in 2001 to create a group of Alumni and supporters to raise money for the Dinos Men’s Basketball program which needed funds to compete nationally. Over the years, Head Coach Dan Vanhooren, SMC directors, and volunteers broadened their goals to enhance player experiences, engage the Calgary community, and support players in becoming successful individuals beyond basketball. In 2024, the SMC started a planning process to update its mission, vision and key initiatives to expand our impact.

Our Mission

Get Involved

The SMC has relied on volunteer efforts from many Alum and supporters over the years. in Board roles and volunteers at large.
